Daniel P. Sheehan is a Harvard-trained constitutional and public interest lawyer who has served as counsel in roughly half of the major American conspiracy cases of the last 50 years — Watergate, the Pentagon Papers, Karen Silkwood, Iran-Contra, the JFK assassination investigation, and UFO disclosure — and this episode is a dense, first-person account of what he learned in those cases, how they connect, and why he believes the U.S. government has concealed the existence of non-human intelligence and a parallel physics.
Government UFO Disclosure
The 2017 New York Times story by Lou Elizondo and Chris Mellon about the Pentagon’s secret UFO program (AATIP) was not a rogue whistleblower event — the videos were pre-cleared by the Defense Department’s pre-publication office, suggesting a controlled rollout rather than a leak.
Sheehan believes a decision was made at a high level in 2017 to begin a managed, limited disclosure process — a “conditioning” of the public — rather than a full revelation.
The Schumer Amendment to the 2024 NDAA (National Defense Authorization Act) originally proposed a 64-page controlled disclosure framework over 7 years, including eminent domain over UFO craft held by private aerospace companies and an independent review board. The independent board was stripped out in the House, but a critical provision survived: all six military branches and all 18 intelligence agencies were ordered to compile every piece of UFO-related information into a searchable digital compendium by October 20, 2024.
Private aerospace companies like Lockheed Martin want public awareness of UFOs (to create political cover) but also want patent rights to the technology — Ben Rich, former head of Skunk Works, called UFOs “unfunded opportunities.” Emails obtained via WikiLeaks show Lockheed officials discussing UFO phenomena and working to kill the eminent domain provision through Congressman Mike Turner, whose top donors include major aerospace firms.
Sheehan argues the disclosure process is coordinated: whistleblowers like David Grush have no immunity, so their emergence implies authorization from within the program. The question is whether the “tip of the iceberg” resembles the bottom.
Alien Encounters
Sheehan represented Dr. John Mack, head of the Harvard Psychiatry Department, for 10 years. Mack studied people who reported alien abduction experiences and found many to be credible, with consistent details across cases.
Sheehan personally interviewed dozens of people who claimed face-to-face contact with extraterrestrial beings, including military personnel who said beings were being held and voluntarily interviewed at S4 (near Area 51).
Albert Ber Stein, a former U.S. Army clerk-typist assigned to Project Blue Book, told Sheehan on his deathbed that he had been taken to S4, where he saw an extraterrestrial being (5.5–6 feet tall, light blue jumpsuit) standing behind a two-way mirror. The being communicated telepathically and said it was part of a team from different star systems monitoring where life had begun, and that the coordinating entity was what “you people would refer to as God.”
Barbara Lamb, a psychologist who counseled hundreds of UFO experiencers over 50 years, reported that a reptilian being appeared in her living room and told her he knew she had wanted to see one.
Sheehan’s contrarian view: the beings may not be extraterrestrial in the simple sense. Given 20 billion Earth-like planets but a trillion non-Earth-like ones, and the beings’ hominid appearance, Occam’s razor may point to a relationship with humanity — possibly interstellar, possibly from a different timeline.
Remote Viewing & Scientology
Sheehan was asked to be L. Ron Hubbard’s attorney and negotiated access to every document in the Church of Scientology’s internal files worldwide. He discovered that Ingo Swann — a high-level Scientologist and remote viewer — was filing reports with the Church’s Guardian’s Office in the UK about the entire internal operations of the Office of Naval Intelligence’s remote viewing program, effectively spying for Scientology.
Pat Price, another Scientologist and remote viewer, became so skilled that he could remote-view a specific location given only longitude and latitude (to the minute and second), describe a building’s interior, open a specific file cabinet drawer, and read a specific file — confirmed as a top CIA security facility.
Price could also locate a Russian nuclear submarine to exact coordinates and reported a UFO hovering above it.
In another experiment, Price was taken to a facility in southern Canada with large dish antennas, asked to telepathically project a message, and the next year 85% of people in the targeted area filed their tax forms at a specific post office box in West Virginia — suggesting mass telepathic influence capability.
Sheehan notes that Scientology’s highest theological principle involves a cosmic conflict between human-like beings from the Pleiades and reptilians from Zeta Reticuli over which group will have primary relations with Earth.
UFOs & Nukes
Sheehan identifies a repeatable pattern: UFOs appear with extraordinary consistency around nuclear weapons facilities. Over 170 ICBM security personnel, radar operators, and nuclear base workers have reported anomalous objects.
Robert Hastings documented these cases in UFOs and Nukes. In 2008, at F.E. Warren Air Force Base in Wyoming, a Tic Tac–shaped object caused a one-hour outage. Air Force Office of Special Investigations personnel harass those who report these sightings.
Sheehan argues this is the repeatable, predictable pattern that debunks the claim that UFO phenomena are ephemeral or unscientific.
UFOs, Religion, Experiencers & Psychic Ability
Sheehan believes the core of the UFO phenomenon is consciousness. The beings navigate and communicate telepathically; the craft appear to have AI that responds to the pilot’s telepathic control.
He sees a direct connection between UFO phenomena and what religions describe as divine experience — orbs, telepathic communication, healing — arguing that figures like Jesus, Buddha, and St. Francis were humans with highly evolved psychic capacities (what Hinduism calls siddhis), not unique divine beings.
The “source code” of religion, he argues, is the evolution of a faculty in humans that can access a unitive vibrational field in the universe — what his Harvard professor Crane Brinton (chair of intellectual history) described in 1968 as the next step in human biological evolution.
The Chinese Academy of Sciences has a lab in Beijing with 300 top professors studying psychic abilities experimentally. Aerospace companies (McDonnell Douglas, Skunk Works) have long studied parapsychology, while academia shut such research down from the 1970s–1990s.
Sheehan believes the government has a systematic interest in people who attract UFO contact — “contactees” — and that figures like Dr. Steven Greer (C5 protocols) were monitored and approached by military intelligence figures like Albert Stubblebine and John Alexander.
JFK Assassination
Sheehan’s account, developed with Dick Billings (chief staff writer for the House Select Committee on Assassinations), traces the assassination to a 15-man assassination team called the “S Force,” created in 1960 by Richard Nixon via a call to Howard Hughes, who assigned attorney Robert Maheu to organize it through Johnny Roselli and Sam Giancana of the Mafia, with the blessing of CIA security chief Sheffield Edwards.
The S Force was originally tasked with killing Fidel Castro, Raúl Castro, and Che Guevara because they refused Nixon’s demand that Cuba not establish diplomatic relations with the USSR or China.
After Nixon lost the 1960 election, the S Force continued operating without the Kennedys’ knowledge. On June 5, 1963, the Kennedys learned of the assassination team’s existence.
Kennedy, traumatized by the Cuban Missile Crisis (which resulted from Khrushchev discovering Kennedy had lied about shutting down covert operations against Cuba), opened a secret back channel with Khrushchev. In 18 private letters, they agreed to begin disassembling their entire nuclear arsenals.
Allen Dulles (former CIA director, first civilian head of the CIA, Brown Brothers Harriman partner) discovered this plan and viewed Kennedy as a traitor for dismantling the nuclear deterrent against China. Dulles and the Brown Brothers Harriman circle greenlit the S Force to kill Kennedy.
George H.W. Bush was notified in advance at Clint Murchison’s ranch in Dallas. LBJ was also notified. Roger Morales (the grassy knoll shooter) and CIA officer Cabell (whose brother, Dallas’s mayor, rerouted the motorcade) were key operatives. Oswald was a patsy who believed he was part of a fake assassination attempt to blame Cuba; when he realized the truth, he killed Officer Tippit and was then killed by Jack Ruby (a mob-connected MK Ultra patient who could not remember the killing afterward).
Brown Brothers Harriman, FDR, Nazi Germany, and the CIA
Brown Brothers Harriman was an investment collective of the 25 wealthiest Gilded Age families (Rockefellers, Carnegies, etc.). Robert Lovett wrote the memo to Truman recommending the creation of the CIA with covert operations capacity.
After WWI, Secretary of State Robert Lansing (grandfather of John Foster Dulles and Allen Dulles) appointed Allen Dulles as legal counsel for Germany to negotiate war reparations loans through Brown Brothers Harriman, secured by stock in German military corporations.
In 1924, George H.W. Bush’s father (Prescott Bush) helped set up the Union of New York with Brown Brothers Harriman capital, financing the construction of the Third Reich’s international headquarters and funding Hitler’s rise as a bulwark against Bolshevism.
The economic theory was fascist: place all government instrumentalities at the disposal of private corporate interests. Henry Ford and the Brown Brothers Harriman circle supported this model.
In 1934, the same circle (Carnegies, Rockefellers, Brown Brothers Harriman) plotted to overthrow FDR and install a fascist government, recruiting Marine Corps Commandant General Butler to lead a veterans’ insurrection.
The U.S. never declared war on Germany — only on Japan after Pearl Harbor. Sheehan states it is 100% certain that FDR had foreknowledge of Pearl Harbor: the U.S. had decoded Japanese communications, and FDR personally ordered all aircraft carriers out of Pearl Harbor the night before the attack, leaving only older destroyers as targets, to rally public support for war.
MK Ultra
Sheehan won the only successful lawsuit against the MK Ultra program: a tennis pro on Long Island was dosed with massive LSD without consent by a psychologist at a New York hospital, given a second dose days later, and died of a heart attack. The Army and intelligence community sent lawyers to cover it up — Jacob Javits (future senator) for the Army and Warren Burger (future Chief Justice) for the intelligence community. The judge, upon learning Burger’s involvement, immediately ordered a settlement.
Sheehan believes MK Ultra had two purposes: (1) an interrogation tool to dissolve loyalty structures, and (2) creating programmed killers. He considers Charles Manson an MK Ultra patient, deployed to discredit the hippie movement through spectacular violence.
He sees a direct link between MK Ultra, LSD, consciousness research, and the UFO/remote viewing programs — all exploring altered states and psychic faculties.
Watergate
The Watergate break-in was conducted by S Force veterans: Howard Hunt (Operation Mongoose lead), Frank Sturgis (Swan Island base), Bernard Barker, and James McCord (CIA wiretapping specialist). They were the same team from the 1960 assassination operation.
The motive: Nixon feared that Larry O’Brien (DNC head and former Howard Hughes lobbyist) knew about the 1960 assassination team and would expose the connection. The break-in was to bug O’Brien’s phones and determine what he knew.
The money found on Barker was traced to a Mexico City bank account linked to the skimming of casino profits through Marcello in New Orleans and Miami National Bank (Meyer Lansky), funding the S Force’s triangular fire team base.
Nixon’s “Smoking Gun” tape (June 23, 1972) — “If you peel off that scab, there’s an awful lot of stuff that could come out that we don’t want out” — referred to Hunt and the Cuban assassination connection.
James McCord, feeling sold out, wrote the letter to Judge Sirica that broke the case open. Lee Bailey (McCord’s attorney) was one of only four lawyers on CIA retainer for covert operations — confirmed to Sheehan by private investigator Bad Andy during the hearings.
Mark Felt (“Deep Throat”) was motivated by personal revenge — he had been passed over for FBI director — and was pushing the investigation that would have led back to the S Force and the JFK assassination.
Karen Silkwood
Karen Silkwood, a 29-year-old health and safety worker at the Kerr-McGee nuclear reprocessing plant (the only facility in the U.S. recovering plutonium from spent fuel), discovered that 40 pounds of 98% bomb-grade plutonium was missing.
She contacted union organizers and New York Times reporter David Burnham. She believed the plutonium was being diverted to Israel for nuclear weapons (in violation of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty), with Iran also receiving some as a condition under the Shah. CIA officer Theodore Shackley (former Saigon station chief who ran the assassination program in Southeast Asia) facilitated the diversion.
She was killed when her car was rammed off the road on the way to meet Burnham. The documents were taken from her car.
Sheehan led the investigation and found that multiple theories were partially true — no single narrative explained everything, but pieces of several theories converged to explain what happened.
Epistemology and Truth
Sheehan’s methodology was trained by Lawrence Tribe (Harvard constitutional lawyer, former Harvard math PhD and Bureau of Statistics head at age 25), who taught him Bayesian reasoning: catalog every possibility, assign prior probabilities, and update as evidence arrives rather than committing to one theory prematurely.
He keeps a “3x5 cards on the wall” approach — laying out all data points, finding which are internally consistent, and building from there.
He refuses to obtain a security clearance because it would allow the government to claim everything he knows came through classified channels, preventing him from testifying.
He argues that 99% of people rely on epistemological authorities (teachers, media, government) rather than investigating for themselves, and that the national security state deliberately penetrates and distorts these sources of authority.
He believes the UFO phenomenon, psychic abilities, and consciousness research point to a “secret physics” — a deeper understanding of reality that the U.S. government and aerospace industry have developed behind the public’s back, while academia remains trapped in materialist logical positivism.
